Make It Happen

It's been a long time since I've been inspired, and I mostly blame it for being in Carrollton for so long. Ever since spring break started, I've felt more motivated, happy, and inspired to do more work. (I didn't think that it was possible at the rate I'm going but..eh...)

After rubbing elbows with a variety of artists in the music industry, big and small, I've noticed something. In the midst of these people, I'm always wondering and waiting if and when will THEY say something that opens the door of opportunity for me. It didn't seem wrong for those thoughts to run through my mind. My world has literally flipped upside down, and I see why those thoughts are completely lazy, unmotivated, and unproductive. Life isn't about waiting for your moment to come. You have to go out and grab it full force if you want to accomplish anything in this world. I know what you may be thinking. "Duh, I could've told you that. That's common sense." Although this may be true, it's still a matter of putting yourself to work and actually going out to grab that dream. That's what I'm about to do.

I know how capable I am. I know how good I am. I know my potential all too well.
With all of this knowledge, it's time to stop waiting, and start doing.

"There are three types of people in this world. Those who wait to see what happens. Those that wonder what will happen. And then there are those that make things happen. Those that wonder what will happen don't put any effort into making things happen."

That's a quote from celebrity and hip-hop photography Johnny Nunez. Check this video out.

  1. I'm glad to read that you feel more motivated. I can understand how frustrating it is to know what you are capable of doing and simply not having the strength to execute it. All I can say is that the experiences we have shape us and help us to do better in the future.

    Keep it up! :)

  2. Yes, motivation is a powerful thing, finding it and keeping it is critical.

I do hate to burst your bubble a touch but Johnny Nunez' quote sounds like it came from the old astronaut James A. Lovell. I say old because he was born back in 1928, not sure if he's still alive actually.

But his version of the quote was: "There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen."

Either take makes the same point though, go make things happen. As these words are supposed to inspire that way. Go, go Tristan!
